Error: Several troughs in one pipetting command / Error: Different detection modes used in one pipetting command

Has anyone seen these errors before?

We are trying to import a worklist to aspirate liquid from multiple tubes in one carrier. Its a 12 tube carrier that can fit modified 5 mL tubes. In the worklist our source destination is 1-8. The Tecan will pick up tips hover over the tubes and then throw Error: Several troughs in one pipetting command (once) and throw Error: Different detection modes used in one pipetting command (five more times) I can okay them all and finally it will go and liquid detect with 7 of its tips and aspirate liquid then move down to the the 8th liquid detect and aspirate.

We tried to define the labware then with only 8 tubes (Y locations) since that is all that we were using and it ran into both errors. This time the Tecan only dropped 5 of the 8 tips at first and aspirated then dropped its other 3 tips and aspirated.

We then tried to use a trough plate and are still receiving the same errors, and this time it is trying to liquid detect with all of the tips even though in our liquid class we have “detect with one tip and move other tips to the same position” selected.

Is there something in our worklist we need to change? Is there something specific in our labware we need to change? Is there something in our liquid class that needs to be defined?

Thanks!

is the detection mode in the liquid class “use first tip …” ?

Yes it is

change detect mode to odd/even tips,
the software is smart enough to know that only using 1 tip for a labware with multiple cavities is a risk for submerge on tips 2 through 8
