When we setup external e-stop systems, the style of e-stop we use works on the hardware level to cut power to the system itself. As such, there aren’t any settings to adjust in the VENUS software itself to allow for e-stop functionality.

could you please precise that? In my case none of the Authentication options “Hamilton Authentication Systems” or “Operating System” enables the option to disable the “Automatic locking of front cover”.
In addition: With “Hamilton Authentication Systems” im logged in as Lab Service

Lab Services should allow you to change the automatic locking setting, but if you have an IVD system then that setting is disabled, see the Help file excerpt below:
You can determine if you have an IVD system by checking the instrument type in System Config Editor in the menu along the left of the window:
Alternatively, you can write a quick method which uses the GetIVDSystem command from the HSLUtilLib, and check the return value:
Let me know if you do not have an IVD setup, and I will look into other options.
